Multiple Myeloma — For Support Groups and Patient Educators
Multiple Myeloma—A Patient’s Perspective was written to be handed to someone who has just been told they have myeloma and does not yet know what to ask. If you are the person who does that handing — a support-group leader, nurse navigator, oncology social worker, clinic pharmacist, patient educator, or resource librarian — this page is for you.
The author, Grant W. Petty, is himself a myeloma patient, diagnosed in 2018, and a retired University of Wisconsin–Madison professor and textbook author. He is not selling a program or a service. The aim is simply to get a useful book into the hands of patients who need one.
Complimentary evaluation copies
A free copy is available to any support-group leader or patient-education professional who wants to assess whether the book is appropriate for the people you serve. There is no obligation attached — no expectation of a review, a recommendation, an endorsement, or a purchase. If you conclude it is not right for your group, that is genuinely useful to know, and we would welcome hearing why.
To request an evaluation copy, email info@sundogpublishing.com with your name, your group or institution, your role, and a mailing address.
Quantity orders for groups and resource libraries
The list price is $29.95. Discounted pricing is available on orders of 5 copies or more, for group lending libraries, newly-diagnosed packets, patient resource areas, and giveaways.
Quantity orders are handled directly rather than through the online store, so that we can quote pricing, invoice your organization, and accommodate purchase orders. Email sales@sundogpublishing.com with the number of copies you need, your organization and billing address, and any purchase-order or W-9 requirements.
We are glad to invoice with standard net terms for institutions whose accounting departments require it.
Free materials you may share
These may be downloaded, printed, forwarded, posted, or included in patient packets without asking permission and without cost.
- Free sample (PDF, 28 pages) — the preface, the introduction, the complete table of contents, and Chapter 2, “You’ve Just Been Diagnosed: What You Need to Know Today.” Enough for a patient or a colleague to judge whether the book is right for them.
- One-page information sheet (PDF) — for newsletters, resource lists, and referral packets
